Illumination of Delridge families

Hello and Welcome!

This is the first of many posts highlighting our amazing families of the Delridge community! Our hope is to share the stories of the families who live in the 7 DNDA Affordable Housing communities as well as connect to the families who don't live in our housing but most definitely deserve some recognition!!!

In the coming weeks, we will be adding pictures, videos, art work, and whatever creative thing we can grab a hold of!!! I hope this blog can withstand all that we are going to be posting because we've got a LOT!!!! :)

Our mission at DNDA is to engage community residents, businesses and institutions in creating a thriving Delridge. Our approach is tailored to meet the current challenges of our community, while honoring and celebrating our rich environment and collective cultures.

2011 marks our 15th birthday!!!! Over the course of the last 15 years we have provided housing and assistance to nearly 1100 people! We strongly believe that every person has the right to a safe, affordable place to call home.

Also, if you haven't a chance to check out our 'other' contribution to the world of blogging, stop by the blog that's all about putting food in the bellies of our babies and teaching families sustainability and food justice: http://familiesinthegarden.blogspot.com/

Lastly, there will be several contributors to this blog:

Phillippia Goldsmith (me!) DNDA's Director of Community & Resident Engagement

Dana Sowers-Dudley, DNDA's Resident Engagement Coordinator

Dejon Rhodes, Community & Resident Engagement Intern

In community,

Phillippia Goldsmith
